Our latest project is to landscape our front and back yards. When we moved in, the yards consisted of dead grass beyond all hope of growing back. The HOA promptly sent us a violation notice. So, both front and back yards are getting a complete makeover. The Southern Nevada Water Authority has a
rebate program which pays for every square foot of yard converted from grass to xeriscape, which will cover most of the costs if we do the work ourselves.
Our first step is to complete the hardscapes, including a 1) flagstone walkway from front yard to back, 2) a paver patio in the backyard, and 3) a small boulder retaining wall on the front corner of our property. So far, we've completed both the walkway and the patio. Here's a picture of the walkway:
