Learning New Tricks

Sam is learning to play games. Steve will stick his tongue in and out, then Sam will try to stick his tongue out too! Also, Sam likes it when we blow raspberries; it makes him laugh and smile! Today Sam learned a new trick. For the first time, he managed to grab his hanging chain links, shake them around, and put them in his mouth. He even fell asleep still holding the chain.

Sam is learning some sleeping-time tricks, too. He has slept through the night (about 11pm-6am) three times, including the past two nights. And now that the sleep-deprivation stage has passed, I don't mind (sometimes even enjoy) getting up once in the night to feed him. In the morning, Sam usually wakes up about the same time we do, so Steve brings him to our room and we all get to spend a little family playtime in our bed; what a fun way to wake up! As we settle in to life as a family together, we sure are having fun!

I can't believe how big Sam is getting. :) I'm so sad that we'll miss your visit! We're leaving for Virginia on Christmas and won't be back in Austin until January 3rd. Have a wonderful Christmas and we'll see you the next time you're in town!!!
