LifeSong Church Back-to-School Bash

On July 31, LifeSong Church put on the second annual Southern Highlands Community Back-to-School Bash at Stonewater Park. To prepare during the week leading up to the event, we hosted not one, but two mission teams from Fruit Cove Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL, and LifeSong Church in Lyman, SC. Those teams worked so hard; while outside temperatures were reaching 112 degrees, they helped us distribute 15,000 doorhangers to homes around our church. Then, they helped us staff all the Back-to-School Bash events. Without the help of these two teams, our little church of 70 could never have pulled off the Back-to-School Bash. We are so blessed to call them brothers and sisters in Christ!

At the Back-to-School Bash, about 400 elementary, middle, and high school students received bags of free school supplies. The celebration included free food, kid's games, bounce houses, and a concert. There were even free dental screenings and haircuts! Families came from as far as Pahrump (60 miles away), and the line for free haircuts lasted long after dark, so we all pulled up our cars and turned on the headlights so those patient hair stylists could see to keep working.
