Well, Sam turned two yesterday, and while we're not the kind to throw big birthday bashes, I think this two-year-old had his best birthday ever. (I guess that's not hard to do, since he doesn't really remember birthday #1). First, at both the doctor's office and the grocery store, he got lots of stickers and even a pack of gummy fruit treats. Then, last night, Daddy took us to a certain specialty ice cream shop (Sam received a "free ice cream" coupon at the library a few days ago).

Sam was blessed with some very special gifts from family members far and wide, including a toy truck and trailer with horses, a truck with blocks, some big-boy clothes, a devotional book to read with Daddy, and even some money.
He also got a mini-blender (he calls it the "ice machine") for crushing ice. Yes, this two-year-old got his first kitchen appliance because he loves to chew on ice!

To top it off, today Daddy and Sam joined the other men of our church for a day in the mountains shootin' guns (er, eating dirt), cooking out, and doing other manly things that Mommy would just rather not know about.

Happy Birthday, Sam!
