Week 3 of our Advent study we lit the "Good News" candle, and week 4 is the "Shepherd" candle. We combined these weeks by making "Good News" gifts (tins full of goodies with a special message about Jesus) and sharing them just as the shepherds shared the good news that Jesus was born. Our favorite part of celebrating advent has been inviting a few friends--some old and some new--into our home on Sunday evenings for dinner, fellowship, and advent reading.
