LifeSong Church Easter Update

Easter Sunday, LifeSong Church met at a nearby park for services at 10am, as well as a baptism, barbecue, and Easter egg hunt.  Over three hundred people from the community attended!  I was so proud to see everyone from our little church working so hard to make our guests feel welcome.  Nearly thirty families filled out information cards.  

The next Sunday, several LifeSong families helped us deliver cookies to more than twenty of those families (the ones who included address information).  Also, that day, Pastor Bobby preached a simple message about how everyone needs a relationship with Jesus, no matter how "good" we are.  Nine people were saved!  Isn't that AWESOME?!  That's a lot for our little church.  We are eager to help these new believers through the discipleship process to learn more about what it means to live for Christ. 

Recently, our church learned that the cafe where we have been meeting is being sold.  We are not sure how many weeks we have remaining to meet in the cafe.  The church is exploring many options, including asking to meet in a local school (permission may be difficult to get), meeting at the local park (would require an investment in tents and cooling units for the summer heat), renting business space (expensive to finish out), or even moving outside of the Southern Highlands community.  Please pray that our church's leadership will have clear direction in what steps to take next.

On a brighter note, next week we have a team of seven ladies from First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia, arriving for a mission trip.  I'll get to work with them distributing packets to homes in the Southern Highlands community Monday through Wednesday, then they'll help prepare for Friday night's Joy Prom event.  We'll let you know how it goes!
